Looking to protect their undefeated record, Warhill did so in impressive fashion on Thursday night at Poquoson High Stadium. There was no stopping the Warhill Lions’ offense Thursday night as the Lion’s head coach, Jerome Rhodes emerged with a 50-19 win over Coach Elliotte Duty’s Bull Islanders. The Lions have been fighting in every game as a unit. Warhill ranks number 11 in Hampton Roads, beating their seventh opponents by a combined 283-78. Warhill has won all seven of its games by at least 25 points and the smallest margin of victory came against a good Poquoson team. The seniors on the Warhill High School football team have a sense of urgency. Michael Akpan and Jack Schultz has played varsity football for four years and strives to be the best with their teammates. There is a lot of leadership that’s taking place with this team this season on and off the field. There’s only three weeks left in the high school football regular season. Warhill next opponent will be Grafton High, on October 26, at 1:00pm Wanner Stadium.
