It is the next phase of the postseason where the high school cross country teams have sought to leave their marks. A rivalry that was made through decades of running on cool afternoons in October – peninsula cross country meet continues Wednesday at the Newport News Park, a throwback in an age of high school sports. Cross country teams faced a tough encounter as they faced old rivals of the past.
