The Kellam Knights continued their success in the Virginia Individual Open meet. Emily Ware and Dalton Long placing in the top five in the field of 40 of Virginia top gymnast. Emily Ware finished second and Dalton Long finished fourth in the All-Around Individual Competition. Coach Strausbaugh stated “I am proud of both of my girls; we worked hard and had lots of fun doing it. Go Knights!”. Emily Ware finished second in the all-around competition after posting (37.950) points. Her score was a first-place of (9.750) in the vault and a second place (9.600) in the floor exercises. Ware scored in uneven parallel bars (9.225) and on the beam (9.375). Dalton Long finished first in the floor exercises (9.700). Her score in vault (9.300) uneven parallel bars (9.425) and on the beam (9.325). Kellam High School gymnastics team have captured a total of 5 state titles in the school’s history.
