Kellam’s gymnastics team doing it big to seek all three Championships: Conference, Regional, Virginia State Championship Title

20Feb, 2016
While high school gymnastics may not get the same amount of press, it has its powerhouse programs and legendary coaches like any other high school sport in Hampton Roads. Congratulations to the Kellam High School gymnastics team for winning the state title at the Virginia High School Gymnastics Championships at Floyd E. Kellam HS February 19, 2016. Each member displayed a perfect representation of team unity. The floor performances were impeccable with each move better than the last. The crowd watched in absolute amazement the entire time. Coach Strausbaugh walked around with grace as she gave each team member an encouraging hug throughout the competition. The Kellam Knights finished the meet on floor in the last rotation, looking to wrap things up. And once again, the Kellam earned five 9.0+ scores to push them over the top. The team scored 37.575 floor exercise and Emily Ware closed with a strong floor routine (9.600). “Kellam dreaming it big; Kellam planning it big; Kellam doing it big. Kellam won three big title Championships”. The Virginia Beach community is extremely proud of all of their student-athletes, especially Kellam gymnastics team.
