Varsity Football Woodside H.S. vs Bethel H.S. @ Darling Stadium October 10-10-2015

Despite the now cooler weather, the Woodside Wolverines and Bethel Bruins still fought their hardest. The Wolverines took the lead in the first quarter with a six point touchdown. The Wolverine’s tenacious offense helped Tyhier Tyler from Woodside score the first touchdown for the team in the first quarter. The Bruins defense made a HUGE sack against Wolverines Tyhier Tyler. This play put Woodside on the five yard line causing the punter to punt from their own end zone. Woodside’s number 8 Kamari Jackson had plenty of tackles through the duration of the game. Bruin fans showed their spirit for number 27 after he scored the second touchdown. By the second half, both teams picked up the pace. The Wolverines started off strong with a pick six by number 21 D’Angelo Chesson. The Bruins number 49 put in his tackles in the 4th quarter and with two more touchdowns from Wolverines D’Angelo Chesson and Tamir Walker, the game was over. After the game the two teams prayed for cancer victims and breast cancer survivors. It was a amazing sight to see the two teams competing to the fullest and coming together after the game side-by-side in prayer. It was a great suggestion from both captain and team leaders.– Story by Marli Peters.
