We performed The Nutcracker, “It’s just something I’ve always loved, life just seems so much better when I’m dancing on a stage or in a studio.” Aurora Watt
Aurora Watt has been dancing since she was three years old. A dance magnet Woodside H.S. alumni, Aurora has been dancing for seventeen years.
“It’s just something I’ve always loved,” she confessed. “Life just seems so much better when I’m dancing on a stage or in a studio.”
She has performed throughout her entire life, from jazz to ballet technique, contemporary and modern, Aurora has made her journey worthwhile. She has done competition with passion and has performed in fall ballets as a team player.
“One of my favorite memories of Woodside dance was the fall ballet my sophomore year. We performed The Nutcracker—the same ballet the dance magnet performed this year. In my day, I had the lead role as Clara. When I came to see my brother perform in it this year, it was like a wave of nostalgia.”
She reflected on her experience as a dancer, and still dances to this day. Currently, she is a dance instructor at the very studio that cultivated her as a dancer. By Amanda Howard
