The weather was chilly, 55 degrees with a light drizzle at the Real Deal High School Classic Meet. Event 18 Girls’ 100 Meter Dash, Destiny Ward from Oscar Smith placed 1st with a winning time of 12.67. During the final heat of the Boys’ 100 Meter Dash, Chris Walker almost defended his title, however, Drake Davis from Fork Union gained first in the last six seconds of the race, and took the first place.
During the 21st Event, the Girls’ 1600 Meter Run, Julia Lambert from Norfolk Academy ran an amazing 5:17:28, leaving her opponents in the dust on her final laps. Also from Norfolk Academy, Petey Decker placed first in the Boys’ 1600 Meter Run, running 4:31:48.
The 4×100 Meter Relay Race was won by Woodside High School, with a winning speed of 51.06.
Event 26 was the Girls’ 400 Meter Dash, which was won by Menchville High School’s Jada Key, who ran a stunning 57.48. From Fork Union, Alexander Lomong placed first of the Boys’ 400 Meter Dash, with a speed of 50.15.
Erik Rosado from Kecoughtan High placed an intense victory in the Boys’ 300 Meter Run when he started in out in third place, but beat his opponents into first in the last few seconds of the race with a winning speed of 40.48.
Julia Lambert, from Norfolk Academy, placed first in the Girls’ 800 Meter Run with the finals speed of 2:24:34. From Wilson High School, DC, Drew Glick, claimed first place in the Boys’ 800 Meter Run with a remarkable victory of 2:01:81.
