Chesapeake, Virginia – Hitting the mats for the final time this VHSL season, 14 Champions was crowned at the VHSL 5A&6A Wrestling State Championships. Junior Trevor Burns of Grassfield led the Grizzly in winning his heavy weight bouts at 285 pounds. Trevon Majette (126) and Barry Carpenter (170) won titles for the hosts school. This win is huge for Oscar Smith H.S wrestling program. The team has been going through a rebuilding phase and really needed to give the guys something to be happy about and to motivate other students to come out and be part of something great with Oscar Smith H.S wrestling program.
