There are stories that I find that touch the heart and fit the moment. The loss of a loved one can be difficult. The memory of Jazmine Foreman continues to live on. The Grassfield High School softball team and family held the Seventh Annual Jazmine Foreman Memorial Scholarship Softball Tournament Saturday April 14, 2018 at the Grassfield High School in Chesapeake, Virginia in Jazmine’s honor. In their own words, Coach Leroy Bohn, her mother, Helena Gregory and father, Charles Foreman, “We will keep Jazmine in our hearts always”. “She’s an amazing person the community could never forget and we are grateful for the opportunity to honor and recognize the legacy of Jazmine.”
“The Grassfield High School class of 2011 lost a member of their class just a week after graduation-Miss Jazmine Foreman. During her four years at Grassfield High School, Jazmine distinguished herself in many ways. She was an honors student taking a rigorous course load and she held membership in the National Honor Society. As a member of the Grassfield Softball Team, Jazmine wore the red, white and blue with pride. She was a leader among her peers who consistently offered support and encouragement to others. Jazmine was well respected and admired by all who knew her. And no matter where she was or what she was doing, Jazmine made a positive impact on Grassfield High School and in the community. Jazmine always shared a bright, beautiful smile. As a member of her Grizzly Family, Jazmine made a positive impact on Grassfield High School and in the community. With the support of Jazmine’s family and the Grassfield Community, the Jazmine Foreman Memorial Scholarship was established to be awarded to a graduating senior at Grassfield High School beginning with the class of 2012. We are proud to honor her memory in this special way.” Written By The Grassfield Softball Team
