Athletes were sprinkled throughout the Huntington Tennis Center, Newport News, VA including Deep Run H.S. and Thomas Jefferson H.S. The action started at 9 a.m. for the 5A Team State Finals. Just like they did in their doubles victory, Deep Run came out swinging. Junior Nina Sorkin. started off the day with a 6-0, 6-0 winning her match first off, With 4 freeman Deep Run H.S. added a state title to their name as one of the youngest group with a 5 game sweep single team match win over Thomas Jefferson. With the win, Deep Run girls’ tennis have won the state title in singles, doubles, and team match this years. Deep Run first had to defeat class act athletic team Thomas Jefferson.
