Hampton Roads local high school football teams doesn’t take a summer vacation, they participate in the Battlefield Shootout 7-on-7 Football Tournament hosted by York High School football head coach, Doug Pereira and staff in Yorktown, Va. The 7-on-7 Football is a fast growing sport that allows the football enthusiast to enjoy the sport in the Spring and Summer months. This game is played by most football teams across the state of Virginia during the off-season. The game is a fast-paced, competitive one-hand touch football game that enables quarterbacks, running backs, receivers, defensive backs, and linebackers to improve their skills. It was a big day for Phoebus High School who was the big winner of the day taking home first place in the championship bracket.
