While Senior Night is often viewed as a celebration of individuals, it also provided an opportunity for the Gloucester Dukes to enjoy being a team on their home floor, one final time.
Gloucester Dukes host Warwick and Heritage High School for the final home double dual of the 2017-18 regular-season. Gloucester High recognized and honored their senior wrestlers prior to the start of the match. The Dukes started out strong taking the team bout against Heritage; however, the Dukes would then take the next team match. The Dukes battled hard in all, but came up just short giving the Warwick Raiders the advantage. Cameron Walker (captain of the varsity boys wrestling team) enjoyed his individual success and that of his teammates around him. The All- State athlete in two varsity sports will go down as one of the most decorated wrestler and football athlete to don the red, white, and gold. As much individual success as Cameron has had, he continues to give credit to those around him and said he wants to do everything in his power to help them achieve their goal of a team state title. Cameron closed out his final home dual season strong, leading into the 5A Regionals Championships on February 9-10 and then VHSL Championships on February 16-17.
