Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) In Hampton Roads High School Tennis For The First Time In Virginia.
Congratulations to the Princess Anne Boys Varsity Tennis Team on their 6-3 in the first high school Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) game non- district win over Western Branch High School. The matches was played at the Princess Anne home courts. A tough way to finish the season, but both teams battled on several courts. It was a hard fought contest with the Bruins trying to come back from a 4-2 deficit in the singles match play. Princess Anne Cavalier Boys calmed 1 out of 3 doubles match to take the team win. Great tennis competition from two well- coached tennis programs in Hampton Roads. Each athlete that participated in today’s tennis match single or double’s will have a Universal Tennis Rating from the results of today’s contest. The first for a Virginia high school athlete to be rated during a VHSL game. Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) is a reliable, accurate index that rates players’ skills in tennis was created by Dave Howell in 2008. Coach Johnson/ Spotlight High had a great opportunity to have a one-on-one with Virginia tennis professional, Dave Howell.
