Stefan Welsh returns as head coach his second season.
The Woodside boys’ basketball team still has one of their very own leading the way into their second season this school year. Welsh graduated Woodside High School fifteen years ago and moved onto play basketball as an Arkansas Razorback. Passionate about the boys’ basketball team making a national presence again, Welsh is eager to begin. As a whole, the Wolverines’ continual objective is to be the best competitive match against their opponents every night they take on the court while aiming to improve with consistency. Their ultimate goal is to be the champions of the district tournament at the end of the season, so up to that point they plan on working hard and dedicating themselves to their sport. “So it’s going to take some time, but we’re definitely working toward the goal and objective which is to be successful. I was born for this, this coaching thing,” Welsh said. His confidence and dedication is just another reminder of his effectiveness. Welsh was a hard-working member of Woodside’s basketball team when it won back-to-back state championships in 2004 and 2005. Thanks to wonderful, passionate individuals like it, it is a successful program: it has been for years and will continue to be. There may be some pressure to get it done: test are coming. The competition in Hampton Roads again to be stiff this 2018-2019 season. By Amanda Howard
