Several Local Contenders Headed To VHSL Diving Championships.
The diving postseason have seen plenty of Hampton Roads athletes compete for a spot on the podium. Princess Anne High, Olivia Francella, the three-time defending 5A regional champion is marching closer to another state title. Olivia continued her success in the water into the VHSL Championship series. Olivia took the one-meter dive 5A Regionals crown for the third-consecutive season with a score of (485.45) a 10.85 improved.
Maury High School’s freshman, Owen Redfearn made his VHSLs debut with a strong first-place finish on one-meter springboard 5A Boys after scoring 450.5 points on 11 dives. In 6A Boys One-Meter Diving, Indigo Flynch of Landstown High School was victorious and made his way to the evening finals finishing first place and scoring (380.40 points).
