On day one of this Semi-Regional Final, Jamestown tennis team was down 4-2 coming into team play on day two. On the remarkable comeback, the No. 3 doubles team of Jamestown suffered a leg injury. Coach Artis is very satisfied in his team’s performance at the Semi-Regional Final. On this day, Jamestown displayed greater steadiness and versatility, but Hanover rose to the occasion when their team needed it. Jamestown started out the doubles competition with a 2-0 lead as they took two of the three doubles matches. Jamestown needed three wins in its final double matches to reach the state tournament as a team. Hanover H.S. was encouraged by their ability to figure out ways to win points. Coach Artis admitted, the tough defeat is going to hurt all of us. The Coach is very satisfied in his team’s performance at the Semi-Regional Final. Jamestown coach, parents, and student body thought the boys had a tremendous performance overall. The coach is hopeful in his youthful team to return to the finals next year.
