The Lions, now 4-0 under first-year head coach Jerome Rhodes.

Warhill notched its fourth consecutive victory and for the first time in school history, they are ranked number one in the power points (21.0) in the Bay Rivers District. Warhill also continued its dominant run of play, blowing out Smithfield 42-6 to go to 4-0. The Lions are outscoring opponents by an average of 20 points per game thus far. There have been some big rushing performances by Warhill players this season, though none could top Lion’s senior Michael Akpan’s effort Thursday against Smithfield.  Akpan is one of the most dynamic tailbacks in Bay River District with an innate ability to bounce outside, find a hole, and dash for field-switch runs. Tonight’s success can be attributed to Akpen, who rushed for 180 yards and four touchdowns against the Smithfield Packers. Quarterback A.J.  Price threw four two touchdowns, both to Dylwan Cottrel.  Price had 200 passing yards for tonight. The Warhill Lions’ next matchup will be against Jamestown High on Friday, October 4th at Wanner Stadium.
