Debut of Jamestown High School’s New Head Football Coach

Michael Murphy is Jamestown’s new head football coach. Coach Michael Murphy has a formula for program-building and he’s put it to the test at Gloucester High School. With Murphy as the offense coordinator, the Dukes went 5-6, reaching a regional playoff in Division 5A for the first time in 30 years. Murphy, who was the position coach at Gloucester for quarterback Isaiah Spencer, now playing on the Old Dominion University’s football team, and Cameron Walker at Hampton University. Coach Murphy is a player’s coach who cares about the well-being of the players. He is always honest and real with them. He’ll always do what he can for his players, not only to succeed on the field, but later on in life. That’s always been him since he began coaching JV football.
