Boys Volleyball Monitor-Merrimac Conference 2 Championship 2015:
Both teams had a good regular season with great student-athletes. Grassfield HS (GHS) lead and dominated game 1 and began the series with the first win. Western Branch HS (WBHS) started game 2 off strong by scoring the first points and never let up on blocks, digs, and spikes. GHS called a time-out to gather the team together and slow down the tempo, but it was still not enough. WBHS effectively communicated with one another during game 2, determined to tie the series up at this point. WBHS won the 2nd game 25-19. WBHS kept the tempo going and won the 3rd game. Western Branch athlete, Antonio Sargent (#7) was a huge scoring factor in the team winning game 3. WBHS was a team to be reckoned with during this championship series. The Western Branch Bruins won the MONITOR-MERRIMAC CONFERENCE 2 Championship in their home gym with the supportive crowd cheering the entire game. Both teams will be the Conference 2 representatives in the 6A State Championship.
