Amateur Athletic Union: The rise of basketball, now, there are more basketball programs than ever for you and your child to choose from in each city.
Players from all over the country will be unpacking their duffle bags as the AAU season comes to an end after traveling to events that will help them get exposure. AAU is a great outlet for fans and coaches to see a ton of top talent all in the same building in one weekend and playing for the same team, in contrast to high
school ball, where there is one game a night during the season barring a tournament. The AAU coaches’ goal is to teach each child how to play fundamental basketball at their level, learn teamwork and sportsmanship, build character, be teachable, have a great time with kids their age, along with giving them experiences that last a lifetime.
Playing a sport is important in every child’s development. Parents should motivate their kids as much as possible to take part in sports activities. Kids are more likely to take up a sport they like with the help of a professional league network that supports sports in communities. they can enjoy a happier and healthier childhood. AAU summer programs places a major emphasis on individual development & fundamental team sports. Throughout each season, players will enhance their basketball IQ and skill sets through the teaching and mentoring of our experienced coaching staff. There’s no denying that the AAU still serves its purpose to provide aspiring high school hoopers a spotlight to secure collegiate scholarships, but the landscape of high school basketball is drastically changing and the tug of war between AAU and traditional programs is becoming incredibly one-sided. Only time will tell whether traditional high school hoops programs will ever regain their appeal or whether AAU reigns supreme for years to come.
